Crystal healing is a system of alternative medicine that uses crystals. Practitioners choose their crystals by their metaphysical properties, as well as colour. It is believed that each crystal has its distinctive properties that can help assist in healing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues, balancing up all layers of being.

There are two main methods of using crystals. One involves placing certain crystals at the chakra points (energetical centres) on the body. Another method implies placing crystals around the body to create the ‘energy grid’ that is aimed at surrounding the client with healing energy.

There are seven chakras which are openings into energy points within the physical body. Each chakra vibrates at a different frequency and transmits energy when opened and balanced. When any of the chakras are closed or blocked, disease can occur as the energy which is needed to sustain the physical body’s well-being is restricted. In order to correct this problem, the seven chakras must be opened and re-balanced, thereby clearing any clogged or blocked chakras and allowing energy to flow freely into the physical body.
